Dan Rip has 30 years of real estate experience with a broad skill set derived from owning both a mortgage and a real estate brokerage, practicing commercial appraising, property development, and, most recently, managing a local municipality’s real estate portfolio valued in excess of $1B. Through his experience, Dan has worked with various land types while creating a meaningful impact on Salt Lake City’s real estate landscape.
Dan’s municipal experience has afforded him a valuable knowledge base that includes land use, capital improvement funding, land entitlement, LIHTC programs, and other intricacies of affordable housing. Navigating the complex political process involved in completing the disposition of public property is another distinct skill of his. In addition, Dan’s most influential contribution was directing the sourcing and acquisition of property for two homeless resource centers in Salt Lake City.
Dan is a skilled, strategic negotiator responsible for overseeing complex real estate projects while building productive relationships with stakeholders, government entities, public utility companies, and public/private-sector commercial real estate professionals. He is also a seasoned project manager specializing in community and neighborhood development and capital improvement projects.
In the private sector and as a commercial agent, Dan’s experience and expertise lie in sourcing multi-family housing for all demographics, land development, investing, and retail leasing. Dan attributes his success to offering top-notch, personalized, value-add approaches to service and providing value to his clients with creativity, expert knowledge of property types, and the complexities involved with the entitlement/development process. He also has relevant commercial design experience. His primary focus is achieving clients’ desired outcomes particular to each transaction.
In his spare time, Dan enjoys traveling, any outdoor activity, including fly fishing, hiking, biking, and scuba diving, and spending time with his family.
